Brian discusses Phone system fable with Network World news

You may remember me talking about Brian Padden last October in A Free Telephone Consultant. I touched base with him the other day and he told me about a recent project for a financial services company looking for a new phone system that would support 65 phones in two locations (60 in Dallas, five in Fort Worth). Padden organized presentations from four phone system vendors and three carriers. The final quotes covered an amazing range: $29,078, $39,970, $48,500, $66,335, $92,921, and $144,171. Yes, that's a $115,093 difference between low and high bids. Have you ever seen a better justification for serious comparison shopping? Read the entire article

Brian Padden recommends mix of IP and digital phones
Brian Padden of HxP and Associates, offers a great consulting rate to small businesses in the North Texas area interested in upgrading their telephone services:free. He leverages his experience and contacts made during 27 years managing Xerox data centers and more years consulting with Verizon and VarTec to find the right services and telephone equipment for small businesses. The carriers and service companies pay Padden a finder's fee, so the business pays nothing but saves plenty. Think of Padden as a marriage broker between telephone hardware and services companies and small businesses. Read the entire article

| A monitor for safety: Technology lets parents track teen drivers speed, location |
Plano was rocked late last year after a speeding-related collision claimed the life of a 16-year-old Plano East Senior High School student, then, less than one week later, another one critically injured two 17-year-olds.
Those stories hit too close to home for Plano businessman Brian Padden, who remembers surviving a similar accident during his teenage years. Now, he wants to prevent others from suffering through the same experience through his Youth Driving Safe technology. See the full story in the Plano Star Courier...
